And the Winners Are….

Educate Now! is pleased to announce the three schools chosen by the winners of our Share to Win competition:

  • Edward Hynes Charter School
  • Langston Hughes Academy
  • Lusher Charter Elementary

Each school will receive a $1,000 donation from Educate Now!

Our first winner, Deirdre Boling, chose Edward Hynes Charter School where her son is in 3rd grade.  According to Boling, “Hynes is the most unsung public school in the city. There are no assessment tests to get into Grades K-8 as there are with many other top-level charter schools, yet Hynes achieves the same top-level, excellent results on standardized tests.” Boling also says, “Despite the devastating flooding that hit Lakeview, the school has persisted, persevered and thrived.”

Our second winner, Trey Medbury, says he chose to give the $1,000 to Langston Hughes Academy “because I know how hard the teachers and scholars work every day.  LHA is full of amazingly talented, passionate, and resilient adults, as well as the best and brightest kids of this city.” Trey was a teacher and administrator at Langston Hughes before he went on to work for New Leaders for New Schools.

And our third winner, Denny Juge, says, “I’d love for it to go to Lusher Charter Elementary as my son is in 4th Grade there, and our daughter will be starting Kindergarten…so in addition to being an active parent, I’ll now be able to be a DONOR as well! They have always squeezed the most value out every dollar for the kids, so I am confident this will be money well spent.”

Educate Now! is proud to make a $1,000 donation to each of these schools, which are not only providing quality education to our children but are also inspiring the loyalty and support of our parents and teachers.
