A District Court ruled BESE’s funding of type 2 charters in the MFP is constitutional. The judge said Type 2 charter schools are clearly public schools, and it was proper to support them with the use of public funds. The plaintiffs will appeal.

The Council for a Better Louisiana (CABL) weighs in on the Common Core compromise up before Louisiana’s Legislature, saying, “With this compromise, the efforts of those who sought to take our high-quality Common Core standards out of Louisiana classrooms have failed, testing will continue and the path forward for the next year becomes much more clear for our children, the ones for whom this matters the most.”
